PORTMOUTH- Ramona Gilbert, 84, of the 100 block of Dovenshire Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29th, 2018. A native of Hondo, TX, she devoted her Catholic faith and service for 40 years to Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John D. Gilbert. She was also predeceased by 1 brother & 7 sisters. As well as 2 loving daughter-in-laws, Tonnie & Gabriele.
She is survived by her son Jackie Vosquez; 4 grandchildren Shawnee, Kurtis & wife Megan, Kobe, Christian; 8 great grandchildren Lauren, Miles, Jonathon, Noah, Gabby, Heaven, Zechariah, & Symphony; and 1 great-great grandchild Carter; and 2 very special nieces Rhianna & Saxan.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, & grandmother. She was a caretaker & caregiver. She was so lovingly known to everyone as Mema.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 5 at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. with a gathering to immediately follow at the Sturtevant Event Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday December 4th from 6-7:30 p.m,
